Just realized my smoke alarm has been my sous chef for 3 months
Moved into a new apartment in Denver 3 months ago and the kitchen is tiny, so I've been trying to cook more instead of ordering out. Last Tuesday I tried to make garlic bread under the broiler and walked away for maybe 90 seconds. Came back to a pan that was pure black on top and still frozen in the middle. The smoke alarm went off so loud my neighbor knocked on the wall. Now I just stand in front of the oven like it's a TV screen. How do you all keep from wandering off while stuff is under the broiler?
