TIL my habit tracker works better with 3 boxes instead of a chain
I used to do the classic daily checkbox for water intake and it felt like homework. Last month I switched to a weekly grid where I only mark down days I hit my goal, not a streak. Turns out the pressure of keeping a chain alive was making me skip days entirely. Now I track 3 specific things per week in one corner and it actually sticks. Anyone else find that a smaller, lower stakes layout beats the big dramatic spread?

My water tracking only works when I put the box on the fridge and use a dry erase marker. Once I switched to a tiny calendar on the door, it became less about hitting a number and more about just seeing the week fill up. Same thing happened with my step goal, I stopped counting exact miles and just shade in a square when I walk the dog twice. The big spreadsheet energy was killing it for me, too much setup every morning. Do you find the corner placement matters, or is it more about the size of the thing you're looking at?
