My cousin swore I'd hate dot grid paper, and 6 months in I owe her an apology
My cousin has been journaling since college and when I picked up my first notebook back in March she laughed and said the dot grid would drive me nuts because the dots would make me feel like every page was a graph to fill perfectly. I ignored her and bought the dotted one anyway, then spent the first two weeks measuring margins with a ruler and agonizing over whether my lines lined up with the dots, which is exactly what she predicted. Somewhere around week three I gave up on straight lines and just let my handwriting float between the dots, and honestly the pages got way more useful once I stopped treating the grid like a cage. Now I kind of love that the dots are faint enough to ignore but still there when I want a rough column for my grocery list. Has anyone else had the dots make them weirdly fussy at first, or is that just a me problem?
