DAE notice their weekly spreads went from 2 pages to 6 once they started tracking moods?
Back in January my spreads were one page for the week plus a tiny habit grid on the side. By April I was drawing mood mandalas, sleep bars, and a water tracker that took 40 minutes every Sunday night. When did the simple setup turn into a whole art project, and did anyone else have to cut themselves back down to basics?
Your mood mandalas and sleep bars sound like they were working for you though. The whole point of tracking moods is to see patterns, and a six page spread with color coded bars and shapes probably showed you WAY more than a tiny habit grid ever could. I get that Sunday nights got long, but calling it "a whole art project" like that's a bad thing seems off to me. Some people need that visual richness to actually stick with tracking, and the pretty pages are what keep them coming back. If the simple setup worked for you, fine, go back to it, but don't act like the rest of us are doing it wrong by going big. The best system is the one you'll actually keep up with, even if it takes 40 minutes.
