Changed my mind about monthly spreads after 4 years

I always thought a full monthly calendar page was required for a proper bujo, but I saw a post from someone who just uses a vertical line for each day and it clicked. Tried it last week and I actually check my schedule more often now because there's less visual noise. Anyone else ditch a staple layout they thought was non-negotiable?

Oh boy, tell me about it. I spent a good solid three years forcing myself to do these elaborate monthly spreads with color-coded sections and tiny little boxes for each day (which I never filled in after week two). Then I switched to just a plain list of dates with a line next to them and my whole world shifted, ha. The crazy part is I actually look at my schedule now instead of just smiling at how pretty the layout is and then ignoring it completely. I guess I love overcomplicating things until someone proves me wrong with something ridiculously simple.
