Unpopular opinion: switching from weekly grocery runs to one monthly run cut my bill by $187
I started keeping a paper list on the fridge back in January and only go to the store once a month now, and my grocery spending went from $720 a month to $533. The big change was meal planning around what was already in my pantry instead of buying whatever looked good that week. I also stopped grabbing little things at the corner store on my way home, which was quietly costing me around $40 a month. My freezer is stuffed now, but the savings are real. Has anyone else tried a once a month run and does the produce actually last, or am I just getting lucky with timing?
