Talked to my neighbor about his grocery budget and I had to sit down

He told me he feeds his family of four on $50 a week by shopping at Aldi in Toledo and planning meals around the sales flyer. I was spending $120 on just myself, so I tried his method last week and came in at $47 for seven dinners.

Man, that Aldi meal planning method is a game changer if you stick with it. I tried something similar after seeing a buddy do it, and I learned you gotta actually prep proteins in bulk (like, cook 3 pounds of chicken on Sunday) to make the budget work. The key is skipping the fancy stuff and building meals around whatever's on sale that week, even if it means eating a lot of beans and rice for a few days. It's wild how much money you save once you stop buying random snacks and impulse buys.
