My dad insisted I switch to a cheaper phone plan and I was mad about it
My dad kept bugging me to switch from my $80 a month Verizon plan to a $25 prepaid one, and I thought he was just being cheap and out of touch. After six months of fighting him on it, I finally switched and honestly I'm saving $660 a year for basically the same service. Has anyone else had to swallow their pride and admit a parent's budget advice was actually right?

What kind of stuff was your dad trying to get you to change before that you ignored? Like in my experience, parents usually have a pattern of nagging about the boring stuff that actually saves you money long term, but we just roll our eyes at it. For me it was my mom pushing me to put money in a Roth IRA back in my early twenties, and I skipped it for years thinking it was dumb. Now I look back and realize I missed out on thousands in growth just because I thought she was being controlling about my paycheck.
