Changed my mind about needing a big grocery budget after tracking my actual spending for 2 weeks
I was convinced I needed $150 a week, but seeing the $87 average on my spreadsheet proved I was just buying too much stuff that went bad. Anyone else cut their food bill way down just by writing it all down?

My spreadsheet is just a list of things I was too optimistic to eat.

Is a spreadsheet really needed for this? It sounds like you just bought some weird food and forgot about it.

Honestly I keep a list on my phone notes for the same thing. Last week I had to throw out a fancy cheese that went moldy and a bag of weird grains I swore I'd cook. Now if I see something wild at the store, I check the list first. It stops me from buying another jar of kimchi when I already have one hiding in the back.
