My coworker swore by flying into small airports to save cash, cost me $40 extra in Phoenix
Last month my buddy Kevin kept pushing me to skip Sky Harbor and fly into Mesa Gateway instead for a trip to Phoenix, swearing it would save me big. I bit and paid $85 for the ticket, then dropped another $60 on a rideshare because the shuttle schedule was a mess. Total came out $40 more than just landing at the main airport, and I burned two extra hours waiting around. He still claims it works if you book early, but I am not buying it after that mess. Has anyone actually made the small airport trick pay off, or is it just luck depending on the city?
