My grocery list went from 60 items to 22 and dinner got better
Three years ago I was buying all kinds of stuff at the store in Reno, frozen dinners, spice packets, the works, and my cart ran about $140 a trip. Last Tuesday I walked out of WinCo with rice, dried beans, a bag of onions, and some chicken thighs for $38 and fed my family for five days. It sounds like one of those frugal blog posts but it really just came from watching my mom cook when I was a kid, she never used a recipe and somehow every pot of beans tasted like a Sunday. I still miss the convenience sometimes, not gonna lie. The weird part is the food tastes better now, or maybe I just pay more attention to it. What did your family make growing up that you've gone back to because it's cheap and actually good?
