Shoutout to the $3 roll of foam weatherstrip that killed my $60 heating bill spike
Last month my gas bill jumped to $118 and I was ready to blame the landlord's old furnace. Then I stood by my front door on a windy Tuesday in February and felt cold air rolling across my ankles. I put a $3 roll of foam weatherstrip from the hardware store on the door frame in about 15 minutes and the draft stopped dead. My next bill came in at $54, and the only other thing I changed was wearing a hoodie inside. I'm convinced half of what people call a money problem is just a gap they haven't found yet. Anyone else got a cheap fix that made a bill drop way more than it should have?
