Saw a $6 tin of sardines at the Portland fish market and bought it just for the little boat painting on the lid
I was at the Saturday fish market in Portland two weeks ago and this tiny cannery tin caught my eye because the lid has a hand-painted fishing boat on it. I don't even eat sardines, I just wanted the art, so I paid the $6 and brought it home. Turned out the tin opens like a book and the inside has a little map of the harbor printed in blue. The fish themselves went to my neighbor's cat, who had zero complaints. Now I'm wondering if I should start collecting these or if that's just a weird way to hoard trash, anyone else buy food for the wrapper?
