Vent: My repotting routine backfired big time on my Monstera
I repotted my Monstera deliciosa into a bigger ceramic pot last Sunday and used a new bag of soil from a different brand. By Wednesday the leaves were drooping and yellow, turns out the soil held way too much water and the roots started rotting. Anyone else had a plant freak out after switching soil brands mid-season?

Oh man, I feel this so hard... especially the "soil held way too much water" part. I did the exact same thing with my pothos last spring, switched to a fancy organic brand that looked great but stayed wet way too long. Roots were mush within a week and I lost half the plant. Took me a while to realize not all potting mixes drain the same even if the bag says "indoor mix". I've stuck with my old soil brand ever since, no more surprises. Hope you can salvage some healthy roots on your Monstera.

Funny how that happens though, right? It's like the same pattern shows up everywhere. I noticed it with cheap sponges from the grocery store too - the ones that look just like the good brand but get slimy and fall apart after a week. Or headphones that claim to be "noise cancelling" but actually just crank up the static instead. There's always this gap between what something says on the label and how it actually works in real life. Kinda makes you appreciate the stuff that just does its job without any fancy claims.
