Took me 11 months to figure out why my Monstera kept dropping leaves
I went through 3 moisture meters, repotted it twice, and moved it to 5 different spots in my apartment in Portland before I figured out the problem. My tap water was the issue the whole time. Switched to rain water I collect on my balcony and it pushed out 4 new leaves in 5 weeks. Has anyone else had a plant react badly to city water or am I the only one who took this long to catch it?

Did you know most tap water has chloramine now instead of plain chlorine? I read that a lot of cities switched over because it lasts longer in the pipes, but it doesn't evaporate out of a jug the way chlorine does. So the old trick of letting water sit overnight doesn't do anything for it. That would explain why your plant kept getting worse no matter what else you changed. I learned this after killing a calathea and blaming myself for months. Rain water was the fix for me too, so you're not the only one who took forever to catch it.
