Vent: used way too much paste on my first 6 case bindings

I was slapping wheat paste on like it was wallpaper and the boards kept warping on me for weeks. Then a guy at the bindery meetup in Columbus watched me work for two minutes and said my paste was wet enough to swim in. How thin do you all mix yours, and do you measure it or just go by feel?
