That $20 flux core wire I grabbed on clearance was actually garbage

I figured cheap wire is cheap wire, but it spattered so bad I spent an extra hour cleaning scale off a simple pipe joint. Anybody else find a brand that holds up without breaking the bank?

Bro same here, grabbed a roll of that cheap stuff and spent half the day chipping slag off my driveway lmao.

Honestly, is it really that serious though? Like yeah spatter is annoying but an extra hour? You must've been out there with a wire brush and a chisel. Tbh I've run cheap Harbor Freight wire on some rusty pipe and it was fine for a quick fix. Might be your settings or your ground clamp more than the wire itself. Ngl people get way too dramatic about a little cleanup time.
