Electrician's tape on a steam line cost me a full Saturday in Gary
Last month I patched a pinhole leak on a 150 psi line with some high temp tape I had in the truck. Figured it would hold a couple days til we could weld it proper. It blew out exactly at shift change and sprayed hot condensate all over the panel room floor. My foreman just looked at me and said, 'that tape was never rated for that duty.' Spent all Saturday draining the system and redoing the joint with a proper sleeve. Anyone else tried to fast patch and made the job twice as long?
