A 30 year hand told me my tube rolling was too pretty and it cost us a retube
I was working a boiler retube at a paper mill in Camas, Washington, and I was proud of my rolls. Nice and even, real clean looking. An old hand watched me for a bit and said "you're rolling for the picture, not the pressure." I had been overdoing it, work hardening the tube ends so they'd crack later. Now I stop as soon as the feel changes and torque marks line up. Anyone got a chart or rule of thumb they trust for when to quit rolling?
