Vent: I sold my heavy euro collection to fund party games and my Saturday group actually shows up now
Six months ago I had 14 heavy euros on my shelf and a group that met maybe once a month. Half the guys would stare at the rulebook for an hour, one guy named Dave would sigh during teach, and we'd finish one game at 11pm and everyone would bail. So I made a call: sell the whole stack on a local Facebook group and put the $340 into light party stuff. Picked up a few small box games and a couple of word games, nothing fancy. Last Saturday we had 7 people at my table in Lansing and played four different games in three hours, laughing the whole time. Nobody checked their phone, nobody asked how long till we're done. I thought I'd miss the deep strategy nights but honestly I was the only one who wanted them. Now I'm wondering if I went too far the other way. Has anyone here found a middle ground that keeps the heavy crowd and the casual crowd both happy?
