That time I ruined a game night by misreading the rules for 4 rounds straight
I was hosting a game night at my place in Austin last spring for 6 people. We pulled out this heavier euro game I'd played once before, and I thought I had the rules down. By round 3, people were getting frustrated because scoring felt off. Around the 90 minute mark, a buddy looked up the rulebook on his phone and found I'd been counting victory points wrong for the whole game. I felt terrible, offered to restart, but everyone just wanted to move on to a lighter game. Has anyone else had a rules blunder that killed the mood for the group?

Actually, most heavier euro games score in rounds not turns, so that might explain some of the confusion.

Respectfully, I see it a little different... lots of heavy euros track victory points as you play, not just at the end of a round. Like Brass or Terra Mystica, you're tallying stuff up constantly. So the turn-by-turn scoring thing feels more like a style choice than a rule.
