I swore I'd never watch another zombie show, then a friend in Austin made me sit through the first 20 minutes of one
I had given up on zombie stuff after getting burned by three shows in a row that started strong and fell apart by season two. So when my buddy in Austin kept pushing a zombie show at me two months ago, I told him no four separate times. He finally just hit play on episode one while we were waiting on pizza, and by the time the delivery guy rang the bell we were 40 minutes in. What got me was that the show spent almost no time on the zombies and way more on the people stuck in a mall food court arguing over a generator. I finished all 9 episodes of season one in five days, which is fast for me since I usually tap out after two. Now I'm wondering if I wrote off the whole genre too early, so what other zombie shows actually keep the focus on the humans?
Totally get that burnout feeling, three bad shows in a row will do that to anybody. The mall food court thing sounds way more my speed too, honestly the humans are always the part that keeps me watching. Hope season two holds up for you, that's usually where these things go sideways.
