Update: 6 months ago someone linked me a 1,900 page web serial and I almost bailed at chapter 40
I kept going because a guy on a discord told me the payoff starts around chapter 60 and he was right. The first 40 chapters read like setup, then around chapter 62 the author starts paying off small stuff from way back, like a throwaway line about a broken watch that matters 300 chapters later. I am at chapter 410 now and reading slower on purpose. Did anyone here stick with something that long and regret it, or does the back half hold up for you too?
