My brother kept saying the first 6 hours of that 14 hour YouTube doc on the Donner Party were worth it and I finally caved
He was right, the pacing is brutal but around the 6 hour mark the narrator starts quoting actual diary pages from a survivor named Virginia Reed and I sat through the last 8 hours in one night, so now I want to know which other marathon docs actually earn their length instead of just padding it out.
