My espresso scale started counting grams in reverse on Tuesday

Grabbed my 3 year old $35 scale to pull a shot before work and the display went from 18.2 down to 0 while the cup was still filling. Took me a solid minute to realize it wasn't my dosing that was off, the sensor just gave up mid-pour. Anyone else have a gadget that started lying with zero warning, and did you fix it or just toss it?
