Just hit 40 tapes digitized from a Goodwill lot I bought in Tucson last month
Paid $12 for a milk crate of VHS tapes at a Goodwill on Speedway Blvd about a month ago, mostly home recordings. Last night I finally got tape #40 onto my PC and it was a full 45 minute video of a guy in Ohio filming his model train setup in 1994 with zero editing. I have been running them through a $30 converter box two at a time, and the whole pile is way weirder than I expected, including a birthday party where the camera man just pans to a wall for three minutes. My favorite so far is a 1989 tape labeled "reunion" that is actually just 20 minutes of a dog staring at a sprinkler. Anyone else buy bulk lots like this, and do you keep the boring ones or toss them?
