Unpopular opinion: I used to think counting my cuts was a waste of time, then I hit 12 in one day
I always figured keeping track of how many heads I cut in a shift was just something shop owners did to push us harder. Last week I started jotting a little tally on my station mirror, mostly out of boredom, and by closing I had 12 cuts done. I sat there and looked at it and realized I'd been running on autopilot, rushing the fades and skipping the small talk that actually keeps guys coming back. That number made me slow down and take a real lunch the next day instead of powering through. Any of you keep a running count, or does it just mess with your head?
