That 2005 'video killed the radio' article aged like milk
Dug through an old hard drive last weekend and found a saved PC World piece predicting internet video would finish off terrestrial radio by 2010. I was just laughing because I drove through Tulsa, Oklahoma today and counted 14 AM/FM stations still running strong, plus my truck's radio gets better reception than my phone's streaming app. The article even said MP3 players would replace car stereos entirely, but every rental I've had still has a knob for volume. Has anyone else stumbled on those late 2000s death-of-radio takes that totally missed how people actually listen?
