My IT guy in 2001 said nobody would ever buy music online, and I still think about that
Back when Napster was getting shut down, this guy Dave who ran the computer shop on 5th in my hometown told me downloading music would never catch on because people want to hold the CD. He actually bet me $50 that by 2010 we would all still be buying discs at the mall. I forgot about it completely until iTunes started selling songs for 99 cents and my little sister stopped asking for CDs for her birthday. I never collected that $50 and honestly I doubt Dave even remembers saying it. Makes me wonder what tech take from today is gonna look dumb in 20 years. Anyone else have a buddy who was dead wrong about something that seems obvious now?
