My 2013 smart fridge finally gave up the ghost yesterday
The screen that was supposed to order groceries just showed a blue error code and then went black. I had to manually reset it by pulling it out and unplugging it from the wall, which took me 20 minutes. Has anyone else had a 'smart' appliance fail in a way that made you feel dumber?

Gotta say the pinhole reset tip is a lifesaver, but honestly the whole thing is still a pain. My smart fridge from 2015 started yelling at me in beeps every time I opened the door. Took me forever to figure out it was just the circuit board getting flaky. Smart appliances are way too fragile for something that holds all your food. They should just be a Fridge, not a whole computer with a screen. Sorry yours kicked the bucket though, that really stinks.

Oh, that's a familiar kind of frustration. I actually don't think you need to unplug those fridges to reset them-most models have a tiny pinhole reset button behind the bottom grille. I learned this the hard way after wrestling mine out from the wall for no good reason. Live and learn, I guess.
