A commenter torched my old tech predictions post and now I fact-check before I laugh
He called out my write-up on the 2005 "email will die by 2010" take and showed the original line actually said something about spam filters. I had mangled the quote and passed it off as a direct prediction. That one reply made me redo my whole archiving habit. Now I save a screenshot of the original page plus the URL and the date before I share anything. Fixed 4 of my older posts in r/BadTechPredictions after that, each one had a clipped or paraphrased line. If you post old predictions, do you keep the raw source somewhere or just trust the summary you found?
