Update: the light in my kitchen died at 1am and I drew my cat from memory, it looks like a burnt loaf

So my kitchen bulb popped around 1am last Tuesday and I was too lazy to go dig a new one out of the closet, so I just sat at the table with my sketchbook and drew my cat Biscuit by the light of my phone screen. I could barely see the paper and I was running on like 4 hours of sleep, so what came out was this lumpy gray blob with two triangle ears and these tiny angry slits for eyes. My roommate saw it on the fridge this morning and asked if it was a potato with a face, which honestly is fair. I used a cheap ballpoint pen that was already half dry so the lines are all scratchy and uneven, and one ear is way bigger than the other. The worst part is the tail, I gave him a tail that curves up like a question mark when his tail is actually just a nub from an old injury. I kind of love it though and now I want to draw him again but on purpose this time. Has anyone else tried drawing their pet from memory in the dark and gotten something that looks nothing like them? Should I keep going blind or actually turn a light on next time?
