My fridge art experiment proved the ugly one wins

Last night around 2am I had two sketches in front of me. One was a watercolor of my cat that I spent an hour on, and it looked decent but boring. The other was this chaotic purple scribble I did in like 90 seconds with a broken gel pen, and it honestly looked like a moldy grape with legs. I almost threw the scribble away, but something told me to slap it on the fridge next to my grocery list. My roommate saw it this morning and laughed for five straight minutes, said it was my best work ever. Now I'm wondering if I should embrace the ugly side more often, or if I just got lucky with the weird angle of the pen. Has anyone else had the trash drawing get way more love than the one you actually tried on?
