Saw a thing at Paine Field that changed how I test antenna cables

I was up in Everett last week checking out the flight line and a senior tech showed me he uses a simple continuity tester before bothering with the VSWR meter. He said he caught 3 bad cables in the last month that way before even hooking up the network analyzer. Anyone else had luck catching faults with basic tools before the fancy stuff?

Ask him if a broken shield shows up on continuity before the analyzer does.

Used to skip straight to the fancy gear but now I start with a quick continuity check every time.
