Rant: chased a phantom VHF squawk on a King Air for 11 hours, and I was wrong about the cause
The complaint was intermittent comm dropout only in flight, so I spent two days reseating trays and ringing out the harness before a buddy at a shop in Wichita asked if I had checked the antenna ground plane, which had corrosion hiding under the gasket, and now I want to know what phantom squawks have eaten your week.
