Picked up a trick from a guy working the hangar next to ours at KAPA about wire labels

I was stripping a bundle for a radio swap last Tuesday and he watched me fight with a faded label for 10 minutes. He said he prints his on a label maker and then wraps clear heat shrink over them, and I tried it on 6 runs that afternoon. Does anyone here do the heat shrink thing or is there something even better for stuff that sits in the sun all day?
