Hot take: soldering cannon plugs beat crimping them on the King Air panel rewire
Spent last Tuesday redoing the J1 connector on a King Air 200 and the old crimped pins kept backing out of the shell no matter how I set the tool. Switched to soldered pins with heat shrink and every single one seated solid on the first try, plus the resistance readings were dead even across all 25 pins. I get why crimping is faster on the flight line but for a panel that sees constant vibration I'm never going back. Anybody else here solder their cannon plugs or am I the odd one out?
