Update: my transporter bailed 2 days before pickup, broker out of Phoenix stopped answering
So I booked a move from San Diego to Austin for last Tuesday, paid the $150 deposit to a broker called Roadway Logistics out of Phoenix, and the driver just stopped picking up his phone. Called the broker 6 times over 2 days and got nothing but a voicemail box that was full. I ended up rebooking direct with a carrier I found on a load board and ate the deposit, but has anyone actually gotten a deposit back from a broker after the carrier no-shows?
Deposit back from a broker after a no-show? In my experience that money is pretty much gone, and $150 is on the small side for what people lose. You could file a complaint with the AZ DOT or your card company, but honestly for that amount its usually not worth the hassle. Take the L and move on, your stuff got there and thats what counts.
