Hauled a restored Mustang more than 20 years old across 3 states, open trailer won me over in the end

I have used enclosed trailers for years moving classic cars, mostly out of habit and fear of rock chips. Last month I had to get a 1967 Mustang from Nashville to Columbus on short notice and the only option was open transport. I did the whole trip expecting the worst, checking the paint at every fuel stop. Not one chip, not a scratch, and the driver knew how to strap it down so the suspension could move without rubbing. The enclosed route would have cost me $400 extra and taken 5 more days to book. I get the appeal of full coverage but for a driver-quality car, open is honestly the smarter money move. Has anyone else switched sides on this after an actual haul, or am I the odd one out here?
