Showerthought: a 68 year old tech in Reno flipped my view on torque sticks
I've been hand torquing every lug nut for 12 years because a mentor drilled it into me that torque sticks ruin wheels. Last month a 68 year old tech named Ray at a shop in Reno watched me grunt through a set of wheels and asked why I was wasting 40 minutes on a job flat rate pays 20 for. He showed me his Wallinger sticks have been dead on against my beam wrench, and now I'm second guessing whether I was just being stubborn. Anybody else switch over, or am I about to regret this at the first comeback?
