Found out that a single clay bar can pick up around 3X its weight in junk, and now my old routine bugs me
I was reading a detailing forum thread last week and a guy posted a lab sheet showing clay bars can pull in about 3 times their own weight in grit and metal bits. I always figured clay was just a light touch up step, so I was using way less pressure and treating a $20 bar like it was fragile. Turns out I was leaving a ton of junk bonded to the paint for like 2 years on my truck. Now I want to know if anyone else has seen that number, or am I reading the test wrong? How hard are you all actually working the bar on a daily driver?
