Took the kids to the dunes near Coos Bay last Saturday and learned my tire gauge was lying to me
We got out to the Oregon dunes around 9am last Saturday and I aired down to what I thought was 8 psi, which is what I always run. First big climb and the rear end just dug in, no flotation at all. Borrowed a buddy's gauge and it read 12 psi, so mine had been off by 4 the entire time. Dropped to 7 on his gauge and the same hill felt like pavement. Cheap pencil gauges drift, and mine was probably off for two seasons of trips without me knowing. Now I'm looking at a digital one, but does anyone have a low pressure gauge that has actually stayed true past a year or two?
