AC drain line clogged and flooded my attic closet on Friday
I walked upstairs to grab a towel and heard dripping behind the wall in the hall closet last Friday. Water had pooled about 2 inches deep around my HVAC unit in the attic over Tucker. The condensate drain was blocked with algae and the safety switch never tripped because the pan was installed crooked. I shut off the power, shop-vacced the line, and poured in a cup of bleach to clear the gunk. It cost me 4 hours and a ruined box of old tax files to learn this lesson. How often do you guys flush your AC drains, and do you use those tablet treatments or just bleach?
