My tracking mount almost took out my telescope at 2am
Last Saturday I set up my GoTo mount for a night of shooting Orion. Everything was fine until the clutch slipped mid-exposure and the whole thing swung around faster than I could react. The counterweight bar whipped past my laptop stand and barely missed the tripod leg. I spent 20 minutes recalibrating in the dark because I forgot a red headlamp. Has anyone else had a mount do a surprise spin on them?
