Told a guy at the Austin Gem and Mineral Show that dowsing for water was nonsense, then my well guy used it on my property in Dripping Springs

I laughed at the guy with the two copper rods at the Austin Gem and Mineral Show back in March, and I mean I really laughed. Fast forward to my well guy walking my 2 acres in Dripping Springs, and he pulls out the same setup and stops dead over a spot the driller says is the best seam we have. He found water at 180 feet, but I still can't tell you if the rods work or if he just knows the land after 30 years. Anyone else have a hobby that made no sense until you watched someone do it in the field?
