Saw a cached page reappear after 4 months, now I actually trust the Wayback Machine calendars
Back in March I was trying to dig up a recipe site that went dark in 2019. Every tool I tried hit a wall, but the Wayback Machine's calendar view had snapshots from 2016 all the way to 2018. I checked in May and those same snapshots were still there, plus a few new ones from a scraper I guess. The before and after: first try I got nothing useful, but after learning to click "Go" on the calendar instead of just hitting enter, I pulled the exact recipe. Took me maybe 3 weeks of poking at it before it clicked. Kind of wishing I'd asked here first. Does anyone have a better trick for pages that were never archived at all?
