Warned my sister off the farmers market at Courthouse on a Saturday, and the parking mess proved it
So my sister moved to Arlington 3 months ago and asked where to get good produce on a weekend. I told her skip the Courthouse farmers market on Saturday morning unless she gets there before 8:30, and she texted me at 10:15 saying she'd circled 6 blocks looking for a spot. That lot behind the market fills up by 9 and the side streets off Wilson are all permit only, so she ended up paying $12 at a garage on Clarendon. Once she finally got in the market itself was packed shoulder to shoulder and the tomatoes she wanted were sold out at the two stands she likes. She said the whole trip took her almost 2 hours for a bag of peaches. I felt bad but honestly this is just how it is there on Saturdays. Does anyone know if the Sunday market at Ballston is less crowded, or is every weekend market around here that rough on parking?
