My neighbor in Arlington showed me a $2 trick to fix my blown outlet and I felt silly
About 3 weeks back I was replacing an outlet in my place off Columbia Pike and kept tripping the breaker, so I knocked on my neighbor's door and he grabbed a cheap circuit tester from his junk drawer and found the real issue in like 30 seconds. Turns out the outlet had a loose ground wire and I was about to call an electrician for $150 minimum, all because I skipped the $2 tester step. Anybody got a go to small tool that saves you from a bigger bill around here?
