My 6 month old bike commute on the Custis Trail finally stopped being scary
Six months ago I started biking from Ballston to Rosslyn for work and the stretch near the East Falls Church Metro was a mess of potholes and broken glass. I ate it twice in the first month, once right in front of a bus. Then Arlington County repaved about a half mile of the trail back in March and swept it, and I realized last week I did the whole ride without white knuckling my handlebars once. It sounds small but it changed my whole morning. Anyone know if they are planning to fix that rough patch closer to the Key Bridge too?
Did the repaving cover that whole section near the Metro or just parts of it? That glass was brutal and I'm glad you're not white knuckling anymore, that had to feel huge.
