Update: the trench wall at my dig site near Abilene caved in on Tuesday and I had to make a fast call
We lost about 3 feet of profile and I nearly clipped a bone bag, so I stopped all digging and had everyone step back 15 feet while we shored it with plywood. Anyone working loose sandy soil know a better bracing setup for next time?

Plywood shoring saved us too, but we added angled braces next time.
